"Truth exposed: all that glitters is not gold"

They paste it all around us and feed it in our streams of life
Glossy, scented images for us to later lust over during the night

Not a single flaw they show us,why do they sell perfect?
So every woman can start to question why their 'not worth it'?

Stick thin, painted face, busty boobs and long flowing hair
Our eyes are allured but our sense knows it's fraud
So why do we worship what is not there?

We know what's under the airbrushing and HD foundation,
We know that ain't real hair, it's just extensions,
Those lashes can come off too, even those nails
So why do we keep measuring ourselves up to these scales?

So if I show more skin, will that make the offers come pouring in?
My bodies hot but I got to show it off first to claim that spot.
"Sweat pants, hair tied, chillin wit no make up on"
Apparently that's when we the prettiest
But that perception won't last for long.

Beauty ain't beauty like it used to be seen before
All the S&M and cheap shots to win
Just leaves us women unaware of the turmoil we live in

There's no sexual innuendos in those music videos,
Just girls selling souls, another video h**,
Record sales escalate as women are served up on a plate

Passing it off as expression and fashion
While young girls mimic, mime and comparison

Subscribed to the weekly magazines to see what she's wearing next
So she can spend her hard earned money on exactly the same dress

Buy the magazines to be told an acceptable look
Since when did we need our beauty to be defined by a book?
