Take me to the morning dew
where droplets look like crystals.
Romanticized on bold scarlet petals.
Graze it along my torso and like velvet
your fingers will glide to the rhythm of my slow steady breath.
Electricity plays me like a puppet.
And stress leaves me as you figured me out.
Take me to the edge of the earth
where miles of open land greet me.
So peaceful it is there,
the white clouds look friendly,
they move to impress me,
radiance charms me as I lose myself behind my eyelids.
Breathing it in to my memories as pain leaves.
Take me out of this jack in a box
where I'm played by the hands of others
for their amusement.
When their ready to release me,
they just have to wind me up and watch me--
POP.
Take me to dirty jeans and drenched clothes,
soaked from our vitality for life.
To the keepsake box of lived moments:
a 20p mock topaz ring from a machine in Shepherds Bush,
metallic mickey mouse confetti from a cuddly toy that stays with me,
attempts at hand made cards and ticket stubs to music and art.
Toppled by paper, permeated in words not from a stranger.
Take me back to the heart.
To Africa,
steamy windows, with written messages illuminating.
Moonlight beaming through the darkness
lighting up your smile.
Hours to kill but we stole them instead,
made them our treasure, they were meaningless without
the connection the manifesting pleasure.
Take me to writing a stanza, a short story to a gripping novel,
progressively moving to the unknown.
Captivating me as I turn the page slow.
Feeding our minds, breathing our souls.
Shattering boundaries, cementing the holes.
Planting intimacy, waiting for it to grow,
Into three course meals and candlelight shows.
Throw me back, forward or at all
fill these blank pages with heartbeats, colours and truth overflowed.
